When I give my '88 gas, sometimes the Part Time light will light up, altghough it doesnt feel at all like im in 4wd, and itll go away after a little bit, or when i get off the gas.

Does this sound like anything? Confusing the hell outta me.

On that year, it is all vacume controlled i.e. the front axle disco. The t-case has a (IIRC) 4 nipple vacume thing on it, and it reads what position the case is in. Might have a vacume leak.

I dont have a front axle disco... or at least as far as I know. if I did Id hae the vacuum housing on the front axle correct? Cause I dont got nothing of the sort, nor do I see any 4 nipple vacuum thing. FYI this is a 242 not a 231.

check the linkage adjustment and your motor mounts

you may just be pinching a wire somewhere
