I am having trouble with my puter, my virus/spyware sys[webroot] scans about 3/4 thru and then won't go any further,it shows i have a virus/malware in the puter. also my daughters ryhapsody program stopped working,now she can't put music on her sansa.
Please try to keep it simple as the only thing i can do without screwing up the puter is surf the net.

Where are you at ?

I live in Dunmore,Pa,a suburb of Scranton.
I read about all these patches and what not and the puter will update automaticly.
My daughter is pretty puter literate so any ideas might help her to fix it other than using the restore disc.

Check your running processes. Then google the processes so you can see what's running.

Sometimes, if you get spyware/malware/worm/trojan/virus, it starts up it's own process that blocks virus scanners from working properly. If you happen to find it, google should tell you all you need to know. Usually, there are small programs you can download that'll wipe the junk off.

Just run the simple disk clean up and disk defrag, and see if that helps, sometimes that does wonders
