I know theres a section for this, a but I figured I'd get the most opinion here.
I have ProComp Xterrains, 33x12.50.
They are a directional tire, very similar to Baja claws, and I know there is a reason.
The thing i wonder is, though, The tires while mounted in the "right" direction has a tread pattern like this when going forward -- ^
Why? the pattern on the dirt looks the opposite. It looks like they wouldn't work as well.
To me thinking about this, it seems like you would have better traction with them mounted the other way. "Backwards". That way, they would be more of a "scoop" and grip more.
Now, On to the reason for them being this way. Could there be some special factor in the tread design that sheds water away from the middle of the tire, and by reversing them would suck water into the middle of the tire, in effect? Would I see any improvement or an advantage by reversing the tread pattern?
