where did you roll it at?

R_jeep
December 6th, 2008, 20:04
wasnt even on an obstacle! was a stupid roll. 4lo turning radius. underestimated the small bank, before i knew it the ground was flying at the drivers side window and i was upside down hustling to kill the engine and get out.

Dang Juan!!! I'm glad you're ok man, but I hate it for your XJ. Is that the lil' turn around spot near Flash Over and Full Throttle?

So what does it feel like to be strapped in a chair upside down lol? I have always wondered. Seriously though, I am always amazed at XJ rollover pics and how easily it seems that they cave in. Judging by the pics, even though I wasn't their, it doesn't seem like you had much momentum going into the roll. I thought that the roof on an XJ as well as the a pillars were pretty strong. Apparently not as much as I thought.

hate to see that ....my ol'heep took 4 or 5 folps and 2 rolls on the top . never did it cave in like that .

Could the difference be that Juan's is a two door vs. four? The B-pillar of the 4 door is closer to the windshield and that may keep them from crushing so badly.

I know right where you flopped. The same place I popped the CV in the WJ!

Sorry to see your Jeep go down like that man! It was a nice one.

Thats what I was thinking. Thats scary though, from the pictures it looks relatively flat. Better to flip on something like that then down a hill or on the highway or something. Glad your alright.

I flopped on flashover right by the area you flopped. I never trust sheet metal. I also noticed Scott in the Black Sammi with the lime green cage and Tony in the black Sammi with yellow cage was there. They are great guys. Glad to see your ok.... Now show us some pictures of a tubed out XJ!

I took my XJ and rode with the JK guys when ya'll went up towards Rev-Limiter, so I didn't see the flop. However, I was there at the end to see you put your jeep on the trailer and it was really nice to see that you were not hurt. I hope to see you and your rig on the trail again soon!

unfortunately i lost the winshield and both a pillars. my situation has me left to ponder how exactly i will be able to get a new set of a pillars so a winshield can go in, with that in the cage will be relatively easy. seeing as how it will be stiffened and not have a top. the interior is also gutted at this point.

i need some images and ideas for a winshield. i am considering a tj windshield. that would be the easiet but not a favorite only because ihavent seen any good photos yet.

You could always throw in some plexie or what ever it is they use on the buggies. I dont see how you manged to flop it where its sitting. Must be more there that cannot be seen.
