Do not harrass non Members. If they have more than 50 posts, they shoulda joined by now anyhow.
See the Forum Rules for any other issues BEFORE you post.

If you mean 1 million posts in total, I'm sure we're already there (I've done my part - I've got over 6K by now, I'm fairly sure...)
Or, do you mean just in one thread? That would be interesting - but I'd like to hear Glenn weigh in on this first - I don't want to create any more server/list admin headaches for him (but a thread with one million posts would be interesting, and I don't think it's been done before... What say you, Glenn?)

I had a hunch - the factoids started clicking into place after I hit the "commit" button...
Here's another! Some part of me would still like to see a single thread with a million (civil!) posts in it, tho. I honestly don't think it's been done before...
Oh - did you get a chance to check out my torque charts yet, or are you still busy? If you like them, just let me know what NAXJA-specific formatting I should apply (backgrounds, colours, and such) and I can work up a second set for here.

Use a stiff putty knife, and start working from the passenger front corner (a bent screwdriver also comes in handy, for getting the corner started.)
I've gone so far as to take a stiff putty knife and grind a slight knife edge (not sharp, just a two-sided bevel) just for this job - and it makes it rather easier to get to, once you get it started...
I've just done an oil sump as part of my transmission swap (it was leaking anyhow, and I was down there anyway...) and that idea still works well...

I think a million posts in one thread would kill the systems. Sorry.
Yes, I saw the torque charts... you let me slip tooo long, and I forget the deal. But generally if it is excell and you export it to html, it can be used. Even better if you grab the naxja header image and make a "ready to publish" page type thing. :) I am working on the FAQ stuff.... so that may fit in as well.

I thought as much - but it was worth asking.
I'm not exporting from Excel (I get all sorts of artifacts that way that bloat the filesize...) I just hand-code directly into tables. I use Excel for archiving and sorting, but I don't like the way it generates HTML.
I can either send you the raw HTML files - you apply formatting, post them, and send me copies to maintain and update, or you tell me (specifically) what you'll want for here, I apply it, and send you the HTML to post (or you just tell me where to post it.) I can also change links around without too much trouble (advantage of hand-coding - you know how everything works, no?) to complement the FAQ/Tech Archive here as well.
I've got a few more that want doing before I'm out of FSMs, and I'm always on the lookout for manuals I don't have. Also, I've taken the data from the "condensed chart" at the back of each section - one of these days, I want to go through each FSM and get the "in-between" data that doesn't make it to the back.
Natch, I'll only convert the XJ-specific pages, unless you want the ones for YJ/TJ, the 1995ZJ, and the 1969 DJ-5A...
I can also convert the bolt chart I'm working on for NAXJA-spefiic formatting (I don't think I've coded that yet...) and I've got a sticky up in OEM tech asking for more OEM bolt/screw sizes, so I can add them to the list. Same deal there - I use Excel for admin, and hand-code into HTML.
Let me know, hm?

Because. Even at fighting weight (275#,) I wasn't "ripped" - and I'm one of those oddies that doesn't really get "bigger" or "ripped" when I do work out - I just get heavier. I've never been able to float, either (and at 275#, I was commonly mistaken for 205-210# or so.)

True - but you get tired of the "villiage idiot" after a while...
Speaking of villiage idiots - has anyone else caught the Monty Python "Villiage Idiot" skit? John Cleese played the idiot being interviewed - actually highly intelligent, he was talking about the important societal and socio-psychological functions of the villiage idiot... Haven't seen it in a while, but I honestly think it was one of their better skits...
Oh - and I just put up some notes on the Peugeot to AX-15 swap - posts in public fora count, right?

What really cracks me up about that skit is, every time a villager would walk by he would 'play' the village idiot and then go right back to the high-brow sociology discussion.

The butcher who owns the local meat market takes the tips of the sirloins, that are too small to package, and grinds them, forms 1/2# paddies and wraps them in bacon (real bacon). He sells them for $1.50ea. I just throw them on the grill. I don't even use salt or pepper - the bacon gives them all they need.

The explosion at the shuttle booster fuel plant (http://www.chemaxx.com/expolode.html) is cool, too. IIRC, the plant had been evacuated when the fire started. I don't think there was anyone there at the time of the explosion.
When the shuttle was grounded after the Challenger explosion no one told the plant to lay off manufacturing fuel. When they ran out of approved storage containers they just started dumping it into plastic bins.

Both sons tried to lie to me this morning.
It was just about time to leave for school and I knew that neither had brushed their teeth. I go to find them and they're lying on our bed watching CNN. 'Now that's weird' I think. 'Something's going on.'
"You guys brushed?" The 11yo says nothing. The 6yo, very quiet and not looking at me, "Yes"
'hmm.' I think. I go and check their brushes. Both dry. I go back to the bedroom. "If you've both brushed, then why are both of your tooth brushes dry?"
Neither say anything but the 6yo slips off the bed and heads for the bathroom. The 11yo still has said nothing - he's just laying there watching CNN. I take a step closer. "If you've brushed your teeth, how is your tooth brush dry?" Nothing.
I leave the bedroom and come back with his Nintendo DS. "This is mine for a week." "NO!" "Talk to me. Did you brush your teeth?" Nothing, again. I leave the bedroom once more - now he follows me. I go to the PC, turn it on, hit the CD-ROM Open button and start to lift out his brand new Diablo II Extension disc. "NO!" "Talk to me!" Subdued now, "My brush is dry because I didn't brush my teeth."
So, I gave him a lecture on how lying is not the way to take control of your life. The way to take control of your life is to step up and do the things that are right to do, and to take pride in doing what is right. You can't take pride in lying. Just do what is right.
Why do they pull this crap on my in the morning? They got to figure that morning is the most dangerous time to try to cross me. They're lucky I've been working on controlling my temper.
But, what really worries me about all this is: Why didn't they go and wet they're brushes before they tried to pull a stunt like that? I know they're smarter than that. I mean, they get good grades in school. How could they not think to at least wet the brushes before lying about brushing?
It's going to be a long, long life. I can tell, already.

We deal with this from time to time as well. My 5-yr old daughter doesn't like to shower since we moved into the new house because the first day here they saw some spiders and beatles in the basement bathroom. So she has a melt-down everytime we accuse her of not showering, then she tries again. Hair is still dry, try again. Damp this time, still smells dirty, try again. A few weeks ago I actually asked her if she wants me to help, she said yes so out the the backyard we went and she showered under the hose. I really hoped that would cure it but while she's shivering her way back to her room she tells her brother is wasn't that bad. *sigh*, what does it take??
My poor son didn't belive me when I told him he needed to use less milk on his cereal and eat everything he puts in his bowl. He kept taking a second full bowl, eat a few bits and waste the rest. One day I made him eat the leftover cereal for lunch after it had been getting soggy for several hours. He was trying hard to gag it down, convulsing every now and again and really learning a few things in the process. I couldn't take too much of it so I told him to dump it, but next time he'd eat the whole thing. Haven't had a problem since, and the whole family jokes about having "old milk" for lunch.
So far I'm having the best time of my life!!

Oh, yeah. Been there. "Did you wash your hair?" "Yes, sir." "It's still dry above your ears." "No it's not." "I'm looking at it!" "I washed my hair." "How is it still dry?" "It's wet!" "Why are you arguing with me? Go wash your hair." That one was hilarious. He swore up and down he'd washed his hair.
Last night, the wife and our 8-month old daughter had dinner ready before the boys and I got home because we had to be at baseball practice by 1730 and Cub Scouts by 1830.
What's the first thing the 6yo says when he walks into the house? "What stinks?!" :smack him up side the head: "Cauliflower." "I hate callieflower!" "Sit down and eat, boy." He ate - I guarantee :)
So far I'm having the best time of my life!!
Wouldn't change it for anything!!

Because they hadn't thought of that yet. Trust me, by tomorrow morning, they will have learned to wet their brushes before lying to you...
:D
And don't I know it!
By Rx from their dentist and orthodontist, they are suposed to brush for 3 minutes, spit-n-rinse, brush floride goop for 1 minute, spit only, then floss. Somehow they can accomplish all of that in just under 45 seconds :D
"I told you to brush!" "I did." "Not in under one minute you didn't. How long do you think you were in there?"
I don't know. I'm really starting to worry about them. They are from Texas, after all :)

A little place down the road called sim's. They have lots of good artery clogging southern fried breakfasts. I had sausage-gravy & biscuits, eggs, bacon, and a side of hashbrowns. Mmmmm...

Yeah. Now that I'm a granddad, I get to watch from the outside...
It's hard telling, but if I had to pick a "best day," the day they both got jobs and I cut off their hockey money would definitely be in the running... Damn hockey cost one about $2500 a year (he played out,) and the other was in for abouth $6000 (goalie...) It felt so good to say "no more!"
"What kind of car am I going to get?"
"I don't know, what are you going to buy?"
"Who bought your first car?"
"I did." - Ended that rather handily...

All good lessons to learn, especially good lessons to learn especially if you're in the middle group, between childhood and parenthood, ie: me. I think that at times my parents spoiled me, but hey, I never took advantage of it, or made my parents feel unappreciated. They are great people, that taught me many lessons about life and success, so now I'm in college getting a start on my own career, not one that my dad could have given to me.

I just read the turkish daily news. 26% of women and 30% of meb in southeast turkey think honor killings are justified and an adequate punishment for violation of tradition.
70% of the women think beating is an adequate punishment for burning dinner, spending too much money, or backtalking their husband.
And article 301 makes it illegal to insult being a Turk. Many famous authors here have been charged. One is currently on trial because of what one of her Armenian characters said about the Turks. Armenians hate Turks because there was a massacre sometime around WWI, but don't dare call it genocide because that is denegrating to the turks and therefore illegal.
Just for clarification, if any Turkish official is reading this, I think Turkey and the Turks are wonderful, and am meerely objectively relaying facts gleamed from the Turkish Daily News.
