I keep buying Jeep parts even after telling my wife that I am done for a while. I'm out of excuses. Send me some new ones that you think will work.

Lately I've just surrendered and told her I'll pack my crap and be out by the next day.

Ideas?

Pull something about how unsafe your current parts are. You wouldn't want your death on her conscience would you? The current setup is just too dangerous! You need stronger and better parts.

I told my wife that I don't drink or chase women any more so I have to have some vice!

I like this one. You might dig yourself a deeper hole using it, but that's alright. Just drive right out with your newly improved rig :dunce:

if she's anything like my wife, tell her to drive it, THEN tell her how unsafe it is. thats worked for me twice. :D

Safety works best. My GF made me order new tires the other day, and I have to get a rear disc conversion now :D

I have found out that complaining about whats wrong with your Jeep and saying how you need a new car works. Start looking at new cars and showing her the prices. After a few weeks of that explain to her you could make the Jeep work with just buying said parts. It has worked for me in the past.

Simple. The more parts you get the more you'll put out. Fewer headaches, etc...

The only thing my wife complains about is the lack of attention to her Mustang.

I need to fix about 4 simple things and I'm golden.

The voices in your head say you need that 1ton steering setup :shiver:

GrimmJeeper's idea has worked in my case once or twice

Do what I do - put more work into her vehicle than yours. Fortunately, my wife has long since stopped asking me Why - as long as I can swing it, it's doable.

(Granted, fiscally, I/we can't swing much - little to no budget surplus of late. Damn...)

OTOH, you could tell her it's either let you get the parts or get that threesome you always wanted set up. Win-Win!

If you never particularly wanted a threesome, and why not?, make the third partner someone she'll probably never get to hook up with you. Jennifer Aniston comes readily to mind. Or perhaps Martina McBride?

Safety is always a good one. I like the whole 'well since I do all my own labor Im saving money before I even start!'. Or, 'instead of payin $50 per oil change x3 this year I did it myself so I have $150 to buy parts with.'.

'It was 50% off and they only had 2 left, I had to buy it!'.

Anything drivetrain related- youre increasing fuel economy

Anything else- youre making it safer.
