Headlight hi/lo beam switch?

The hi/lo switch doesn't seem to 'work' on my son's 87 Cherokee. The headlights work, the wipers work when you turn them on, etc... but you can not toggle f/hi to lo beams.

Is there a common fix for this or does it look like the switch would need to be replaced?

I tried searching, but couldn't find what I was looking for.

Probably need a switch, it's under the dash bolted to the steering column.

You might be able to adjust it. If you loosen the switch screws, it'll slide slightly both ways. When I replaced my switch, the dimmer wouldn't work and I had to do this.

My boss told me about this one and i thought he was retarded but actually he was right. Mine get stuck on high-beam all the time, try moving the tilt up and down as you toggle the lever. Pulls mine out of the brights every time it gets stuck.:attom:

Turns out the dimmer switch was bad. Replaced that and all is well now. (sorry for the delayed follow-up)
