If I remember from my auto shop days in high school a good lube for the bead is a mixture of dish soap and water, do I remember right?
I don't want to screw up the beads for my new shoes!

I have nothing useful to add.....
However:
This would be much more interesting if it was simply titled " Bead Lube" and in the Den.

It not only helps the tire and wheel but it also keeps from damaging the beading seater/remover on the tire machine. I don't remember it's techinical name but it's the thingy on the end of the tire arm where you put the tire iron thru when removing the tire and push in when putting the tire on, those puppies are about $80 ea with some kind of plastic coating on them that wears off real quick without lubeing it.
