Andy was kind enough to offer up his driveway for me to get my XJ back in working order. ive got a hell of a clicking sound coming from the front end, and i can only assume its a ujoint. so basically i will be swapping a front axle ujoint, and swapping in the steering setup i got from Matty last weekend (thanks again!). pretty much going over the whole front end and trying to figure out wtf the noise im hearing is.

ive never taken an axle ujoint out before, so i dont know what im getting myself into. it would be nice to have someone who knows what they are doing looking over my shoulder... or at least some of my buddies there to laugh at me when i mess something up :D

Well, I talked to Craig (CDS36) and he wants to do his ball joints tomorrow. Anyone who is coming want to bring their ball joint press tool so he can change them? Or anyone have one we can borrow if you are not coming?

Man, you passed on an IR Ti gun for $100, everyone that shows up should kick you too, those things are nice. :) I found a 2115 for $50 at the local pawn shop and was all over it. Great gun.

yep, it drives as straight as can be expected on superswampers :D its great. plus, i got my 1.75 spacers in the front, and swapped out my 3.5 leafs for 4.5 RE leafs. im sitting about 1.75 higher all around, and while my control arm angles arent exactly nice, it rides ALOT better than it did, and my death wobble is gone. i guess the bolt going through the hiem joint at the frame end shouldnt be able to be turned by hand. :wierd:

Ball joints, beer, pizza, lube all zerk fittings, replace injectors....remove again and replace injectors again because one leaks (leaks at housing not o-rings). Replace taillight harness because when he has the lights on and hits the brakes the brake lights ALL go out. I am sure I am missing something. haha

got an extra 2" of droop by cutting away part of this bracket that was hitting the control arm. (thanks Andy!)

lets see. Craig got his balljoints changed, and changed his injectors.... i raised my jeep a couple inches and got my steering swapped to the ZJ setup... Sean got his lights wired up, and his cut and fold job started, Bill swapped a water pump... Ted got his lic plate frame swapped.. am i missing anything?

Andy you should open a shop. with this much work getting done in your driveway you should be getting paid!

Got home safe and sound no problems with ball joints but its still stumbling, I dont know where to go from here, but a big thanks to Andy for the help and for the use of his driveway and tools to Scott for the use of his kit, Scott I was so stressed out about what happened man honestly, totally relieved you were so cool about it. Curt for taking me to get the correct upper ball joints, Johnny for taking me to get a new fuel pressure regulator and Bill, Mike, Cory, Sean, Ted, and Teds friend for the company.

We got to do this and have time for beers after !!! :cheers:

Well everything went fine on the drive home (or the drive to the girlfriends house). Woo0t. For the record, I actually fixed a bent rear licens plate frame. And removed my front plate mounting frame due to a hole in the plastic bumper mount hole.
