I want to get a head count for the christmas party, so I can get the appropriate amount of food.
So who's coming and how many you bringing. Kids are welcome and we will have a bounce house for them.

I will take care of all the food, but please bring your own drinks. I have a fridge in the garage plus we will have ice chests as well. Also I have a dozen or so chairs, so if you have an extra chair in the back of the Jeep bring it along.

Hey Brendan, I'll be there with the wife n kid. I can bring all the plasticware (forks, knifes n spoons) as well as cups.

BTW, Brendan said he would take care of the food but everyone should bring some money to cover the cost of the food and the jumphouse for the kids.

I will not get to make it. My son has been in the hospital all week and finally will go home today. He had an issue with his eye but luckily no surgery was needed. Needless to say, we have to be careful and rest up this weekend.

Grimm... don't back out. Not for this reason. Keep in mind that online disagreemes (lets be nice and call them that) are usually best resolved in person and some things that are misunderstandings (cause some of them are) get quickly solved over a beer.

First of all: Brendan, many thanks for hosting the party and doing all the cooking.

I have to echo the following sentiment:
yea it sucks because based on the RSVPs, we purchased a certain amount of food and so its questionable whether we would break even on cost.

I understand that folks' schedule changes, things come up, but we had plenty folks who rsvp'd not show up. This is bad because of all the food that was purchased, that's not returnable. At the end (unless a lot of folks showed up late) we lost money. I know it's not all about money, but it's money that could have been saved..... So in future, if you RSVP and can't make it, please let someone know so that adjustments can be made. I bought food today right before the party as to have the best matchup between food and number of folks attending.
