I have a '93 auto with a 4.0 engine. What your ECU's would be compatible for my year? I'd like to pick up a spare if I run across one cheap.

Any ECU from 87-96 should work as long it's from the same engine and transmission.

91 to 95 should be the same.

87-90 weren't OBD1 so they wouldn't work..

87-90 were Renix, not OBD-I.
91-95 is OBD-I, but you are right, 87-90 will not work.

And I take it 96+ was OBDII?

Try to find one with the same part number, and for the same year as your Jeep.
