It's time I start getting the word out about this run this year. I've been putting in so much time trying to make sure the new rig is ready for this run.........
So, if you like to run in Johnson Valley, or if you've never been there and have been waiting for a chance, this is it. We're going to have a JV run on the weekend of Nov 18-19. There are trails for everyone, from mild to wild, and the desert scenery there is truely unique. We will have a moderately easy scenic run on Sat, plus moderate, hard, and really hard. It's even plenty of fun just to watch the big dogs run the hard trails if you've never done it before. There will be a dinner and probably a raffle on Saturday night, as well as trails to run both Sat and Sun. Oh, and the camping is free!
So, mark it on your calendar, and watch for more details. We had a great time last year, and had 46 rigs for the weekend. Post up if you're interested in coming, so we can get an idea of what to plan for. If I'm going to do T-shirt's this year I need to get an idea of who's interested. Also, if you can help out with putting on a good raffle, let me know what you can do.

I am not bringing the trailer. The XJ needs a brake controler and a wiring harness before I can pull the trailer. I may need to have the rearend rebuilt as well. Cash is a bit tight right now. 4 registrations due at the same time! The MJ is more than the other 2 Jeeps put together.

I will be there again. Last year was my first official Naxja event and I had a blast. Hopefully this year Mr. Fan won't meet Mr. Radiator and I can make it through Clawhammer.
Just in case, I am bringing a spare rig:

I'll get more details up soon. Last years run was pretty good, and this years run is quickly shaping up to be better. I'll get T-shirt order information up within the next couple of days........get your PayPal accounts lined up.
One thing we'll do is try to keep the runs smaller this year. Also, rig and equipment will be matched to the trail. Should be a great time of wheeling and seeing old and new friends.

Assuming troy gets my d30 housing welded back together in time, and i get the locker i lent out returned in time, and i get the gears installed in time, and manage to get my junk to pass smog, and find time to bolt all that crap together .. I'll be there and running the trails in my own jeep, for once.
Otherwise I'll still roll out there in my pickup, and can stack rocks and point for people again. :)

Troy says he will have your 30 done by this weekend!
My garage is available if you need a lift.
You do have almost two months to finish your junk... :D

I have five MTR's of the 33" variety that would look good on your rig!

Is there a place, like my tent for example, I could leave my doors during the day while we're out on the trails? It would be nice to have them on for the 3 hour drive up there and take them off for the trails. Es possible?? Good idea??

Another random question: Anyone have a trailer I can borrow/rent for that weekend? U-haul is mucho expensivo. I don't have to have a trailer, as mine is driveable up there, but if JV is like every other trip I've ever been on, I'm pretty sure I'll break something. Like my trackbar. Twice.
I'm in San Diego, so anything nearby would be super.
Thanks!

You can add to that, that I've been to JV a handful of times, done clawhammer a few times, and aftershock. All on either 32" M/Ts, or 33" A/Ts, and an open front diff.
But I've never done lower doran.

Mike, it will be good to see you. Unfortunately, I just don't get down to runs in SoCal much anymore. It's pretty much desert in the winter and Sierra's in the summer, with a few trips to Moab, CO, and AZ thown in now and then.
I'm sure there will be plenty of empty seats for those who need them. I've never been on a run before where I just rode, and last month my Jeep was acting up, so I just left it in camp and rode all weekend with one of the other guys.......and I had a blast! To me, half the fun is wheeling, and half the fun is hanging out with your friends.
