235/85/r16 tires

looking to run a 235/85/r16 tire on a 3inch lift. i found a tire calculator that shows this to turn out to be 31.7x9.3....is this tire to narrow?

anyone else running this size tire, i dont want to have to go out and buy 15" wheels, and someone was telling me to not change the backspacing if i was only going with a 3 inch lift (which i plan on doing)

any insights?
 
too narrow for what, the rim?

what size rim do you have? you said its 16" but how wide? if its the stock rim, than i believe its a 16 x 7 so you should be fine.
 
I'm curious about 235/85s also, as I'm debating 4" with 265/75-16s vs. a 3" lift with a 245/75-16. Of course, I wish I could get away with 3" and 265/75s, but maybe 235/85s are a good compromise? IDK.
