my buddies tj has an arb locker in his rear 35.... yeah i know...
anyways we just got the comprssor to work and we turned on the rear locker and it engaged but theres a lot of air leaking out of the diff through the breather tube... im not too familiar with arbs but could that copper tube inside the diff not be sealed all the way but still engage the locker?

he traded in his ford at the dealer and got this tj. just not sure whats goin on with the air line.

thanks

Could be the fitting where the inside line goes through the case(you hope). The next(and most likely) problem would be the O-rings outside the bearing(you'd have to pull the dif case to change them, lucky you) Least likely would be the hard line inside the dif leaking(pin hole leak)

You'll have to pull the cover to determine where the air's getting out, then soapy water is your friend. Good luck!

And yea, even with a hell of an air leak, the locker can engage as long as it gets enough pressure.

Spun collar on the locker, Air fitting at housing bad or not sealed properly, broken case, blow seals... Several things could cause the leak.. start at the fittings, then work your way into the diff.. pop the cover and try working the locker.. if it's an external leak you'll see it.. if it's internal the locker may need to come apart..

Summed up nicely :D

no way, fix it! ARB's rule!
