Ah! Love the AT! It runs right by Roanoke and we get up there often for short hikes. There is not a bad view from anywhere on the trail

My sis has done almost the whole trail at different times pieced together. She is more into the hiking thing than I am though.

have I told you lately......

I HATE YOU!!!!!!

it's been almost 20yrs since I've been blessed with time on the trail, but I can still remember it like yesterday. I guess I have only myself to blame for not getting back, but you've inspired me to make a return trip in the next year!

thank you for sharing and inspiring

Thanks for the kind words guys, I have tried to spend a few weekends a year on the trail since I was a teenager.

We really should try to organize a SE chapter wheeling/hiking trip.

What do you think?

I know the thought of walking 10 miles with 30 or more pounds on your back may seems ludicrous to some, (my wife for one!) but, do you think there might be enough interest?
