Homebrew on board air !

Just do it with a normal CO2 tank.

Just go this route.....

Tank:

150 PSI Regulator:

Handle:

Mounting Bracket:

For sure get the better handle and the bracket is nice to have but you can save some cash by making your own. Make sure you get quality air line because the CO2 will freeze it. Also I use the 150 PSI regulator because I am just filling tires. If your running tools you may want to think about the adj. regulator to prevent freezing it.

If you put high pressure CO2 into the tank to not skimp on the tank. For example I have a scuba tank for my on board air that failed its last inspection. But I only use 100psi compressed air, not high pressure CO2. If the tank isn't certified don't get it. How much PSI does a fire extinguisher hold?

The fire extinguisher that I use is said to hold 500 psi. This was on my CJ-5 (sold it to get the XJ)

I found this to just as easy as trying to find all the stuff i needed... I mounted the compressor under the rear seat...Did it about a year ago, still works great..

I know this is the easy way...

We use basically the same setup on the fire truck except we use our Breathing appatatus bottles. We run air chisels for extrication and also use it to inflate our rescue boat.

Sorry it took so long.. This is my compressor mounted under rear seat.. On real hot days (thats like 100 an above) i lift the seat up for cooling it..

I just finished this a few weeks back. It's a 15lb extinguisher. I got it from the local fire supply where they are filled. The guy had the reg there too. Tank and reg for $60 and $20 for the rest of the fittings (ecluding the paintball fill station part) I haven't worked out a permanent mount yet.

If your looking for an extingusher mount check from that same company you got it from or look on ebay for an SCBA Bracket like used in a firetruck. Lots of them have cinch straps to secure them tightly and if the circumference of the clasps arent right they can be bent easily to fit. I can look around our firetruck shop and see if any are lying around and ill take some pics.
