Quick question on hoods

XJ hood interchangeability is from 87-01, right? I want a hood for my '98 and from browsing around some people say 87-01, some say 87-96 and 97-01. Thanks.

There must be some minor difference with the 97 & later, but my wrecking yard buddies assure me they fit. The early tailgates are the same way, new ones are listed 84/85, 86/90,91/93 & 94/96, but according to the Hollanders interchange they all fit, 84/96. The early hoods [84/86]don't fit because they only have one latch.

The dimensions are the same; the differences are in things like the underhood lights.

Same for the hatches--some had third brake light, some had washer sprayer, etc.

Hatches are the same from 84-96, but 97+ are metal, while the older models are fiberglass.
