What do you do when your drunk

When I've had enough to actually get drunk (takes a while...) I'm usually pretty happy - mainly because I don't hurt for a little while.

What do I do? Tell jokes, laugh a lot, and grope my wife whenever she gets too close (ape arms come in handy.)

Why am I a happy drunk? I figure two reasons - 1) Ethanol is a wonderful painkiller, in quantity. 2) Jimmy Buffett. I tend to listen to him when I'm drinking. As long as it's not tequila (I don't know why, but tequila makes me violent. Probably something in the agave cactus. I tend to stick to rum.)

The Hell of it is, I can't drink anymore - damn depakote. It's not working very well either - I'm already on double the normal "max" dose - so we will probably either switch to something else yet again or I'll just have to give up and live with the headache. If I get off the meds for it, at least I can get drunk once in a while (and since I don't get hung over, it's a pretty good deal.)

I've a good deal to be sad about, but there's one important thing to remember: You can't run away from trouble, there ain't no place that far! Trying to drink it away doesn't help either, and I learned that the hard way some years ago as well (crawled into a bottle of cheap Scotch for about nine months. Urgh...)

Mental pain can - and properly should be - dealt with without chemical assistance. Physical pain? Physically tiring, and one does need relief once in a while (and getting a scrip for enough Vicodin or Tylenol IV just isn't happening - forget fentanyl or anything really good. And, I don't like needles, which rules out morphine.)

Losing people is no fun, losing family even less so. Don't forget to heal from it tho - or you'll never get anywhere yourself. You're still there for your daughter, so make each day count. I lost my own son - which is why I've so thoroughly accepted my wife's two boys. As far as I'm concerned, they're mine, and they come to me for advise and assistance more than they go to their own father (which I find flattering.) They're a second chance for me - I don't think I could go through any more kids of my own anymore, I'd be too worried. (You can heal nearly any wound, but that doesn't mean there won't be a scar!)

What a loser. When I woke up this morning I sat up in bed and said shit did I realy post that lol. Yes I do miss my mom she died this year at the age of 54. Cancerous brain tumor. I get drunk and the emotions get out some lol.

Been there, done that (got drunk and posted). It's all good. Sorry to hear about your mom. I lost my dad a couple years ago at 64 to all kinds of cancer. Tough thing to handle man.

happy ending is where its at. lol. i got wasted and tried to crawl between a 200ft mountain and a boulder the size of a school bus. after that my front toe got so wedged from the rock and mountain. it turned all my steering into "u"'s/ it was kinda scary. good thing he had a trailer for me to tow the rig back the next day. i was at least a 12pck deep and that was when i was 19. good times. now im 23 scared to drink and drive. especially my rig. dont want to do sooo much damage.

Depends on the mood I am in when I start drinking.....I used to have a habit of trying to tear the house or apartment apart with my bare hands....and then there was the night I spent at the American Embassy in Mexico City....I have since learned not to drink when I am in a bad mood.

Been keeping it pretty low key since I got out of college though.

I like to play music and work on simple things. A couple weeks ago I washed and vacuumed my XJ, Silverado and my finance's Forenza. Cutting grass is another good one. Last night I killed a few cans breaking apart spring packs and cutting off the eyes to make my bastard pack. Getting stuff done while getting a buzz is where it's at! But pace yourself accordingly.

I've moved all my beer to the frige in the garage. Now while I'm out here catching a buzz, I clean up, build shelves, cut the grass, etc. I've got the XJ backed up to the garage door with either my iPod or Droid X running TuneIn delivering music. I have a couch against the back wall with a coffee table. 10 months out of the year or so, it's a pretty good man cave. The heat I can handle but I really need to get kero heater for the winter.
