Hey guys, i'm really starting to miss the snow down here in CT. So i'd like to plan a trip farther north this winter, just for a weekend getaway to see some snow, dont need attractions or a place to wheel, just lookin for snowy roads and a place to set up camp or even a cheap hotel. So has anyone farther north of here been guarunteed snow at any time during the past few winters? Let me know some small towns to head up to. Thanks!

I'm not sure where in CT you live, but we got plenty of snow around here last winter.

But if you are looking for nice places, check out the Stoweflake and Equinox hotels in VT

I'm all the way down on the coast (milford). We got about got 2 or 3 small storms last winter, the rest was rain and ice. I'll deffinatly look into those places though, thanks! Where abouts are you that got a lot of snow anyways?

nice! Still rainin down here lol. Well, for a weekend getaway i'd be willing to leave after work fri. night...so i guess anywhere within a 4 or 5 hour ride? Ive never really driven farther north than mass and i'm pretty sure i can get through the state in a few hours....so 2 hours north MA.

you need to take a ride up Rt 100 in western Vt. it runs north/south basically the entire length of the state right thru all the big ski areas.

Now we're talking! That sounds like an idea, thanks. Hopefully i'll have my 95 built w/ the basics by December and then it looks like i'll head up that way.

The Equinox isn't exactly a cheap hotel... LOL Definitely a nice place though. The Adirondacks are great in winter. Lake Placid area has lots of places to stay and lots to do.

Route 7 in Vt is a great ride too. It's a pretty straight north south ride on the western side of VT with some great views. It's main section starts in Bennington and head up north, past Manchester, Rutland, and Burlington. Lots of great skiing up that way including Killington (just avoid the weekends) and Stratton.

Hit 100 in one direction and 7 in another and you've got a killer ride.

We need a few good storms over here in Jersey. I dont think we have seen a decent amount in a few years.

sounds good, up 100 and down 7. Are there any areas that dont generally get plowed up there? Down here CT freaks out at one inch of snow....plows everywhere throwin sparks as soon as a flake hits the ground.
