I've tried emailing, naxja pm's and a pay pal dispute. Still can't get a hold of him. I see from a brief search that others have had issues with this when he was going through some email issues. Although that was a few months ago so I assumed i'd be safe to purchase a module before he stops making them in December. Has anybody heard from him? I know he's not a fraud but i'd at least like a little communication if your not going to send me what i paid for.

That sucks, I did my research before my purchase, looking like I saved myself some hassle.

He doesn't hang out here much anymore. But you can find him over at Pirate.

His last activity over there was on 7/29/08. So it seems he is nowhere to be found.

dont bother. The guys done making them, he sucks at communication, and IMO the product itself is not worth the time/money/hassle.

You do not want it for a 97+ XJ unless you want a CEL to come on.

there is another thread within the last week or two stating the same thing.
also says his new email address and why he doesn't use his old one, I believe the poster was able to get ahold of Brett using the new email address and receive a time on when to expect the piece.
From past reading Brett seems like a good guy, but business may have gotten backed up, and life may have him sidetracked for a bit.

Years ago there was a thread that showed how to wire your own 'Comp-u-shift' on the AW4. A friend of mine did my trans, 'years ago', but I couldn't tell you how it was done. I can actually control my trans shifts between first and second with the flip of a switch. Couple of wires, couple of diodes.
Works perfect!

That writeup was on BigOffroad.com in the BigTech pages...
I too used that writeup, spent maybe $5 on parts @ solder, worked great.

Well I hope he has one hell of a good excuse for getting sidetracked, because if you have a website that is actively taking people’s money then there are legal obligations involved. Unless he gone on a sabbatical for a month with his jeep, I really don’t want to hear it. How long does it take to turn on your computer and check you’re messages?

I wouldn't mind the CEL, and I have tried his "new" email to contact him.

well let me know if he gets back to you, and if he does tell him to check this board or paypal or pirate or any other email addresses he has.

X2! If you are in a business, actively taking orders, man up or shut down. Life happens, but there is no excuse, when running a business, not to write someone back in 2-3 days.

Well I emailed him twice in two weeks, no response (I did this just to see if he was around before ordering, and I had a question on the product). Im not trying to fuel a witch hunt here. I know people here know him personally, a little help please?
I'd like to do it myself but all the DIY articles I find seem to be for the <96 due to a computer difference.

I'm on the verge of considering this guy a fraud. He may have provided a service before but at this point all I see is a way for him to receive money and provide zero service. I'll give him maybe another week then I’m reporting him to the better business bureau because it looks like its happened to others and it has to stop.

I was going to email him with questions and maybe an order before he quit in December, but forget it now. Lets hope the man isn't hurt or laying up in a hospital bed somewhere. (Not that I think that is what is happeneing)

I'm happy with that responce on his website. That means I can get one cheaper and be able to fix it or get parts if I ever have a problem. I'm looking forward to his new order process in January, so I can get mine. I have been holding off because I was worried about support if I ever had a problem down the road.

Maybe somebody would sell you theirs for full price so they can buy the kit for less in a couple months :dunno:

i'm willing to pay an extra 40 bucks for an assembled kit asap as apposed to disasembled in 2 most likely 3 months. Plus i've already shelled out the dolla bills.

I'm really starting to develop hatred for this damn guy. It’s been over two damn months and still not even an email response let alone the damn product. I'm wondering if his blog on his front page was BS just to calm folks down. What a horrible business owner, I should have never invested in him.

Thats alright.
If you had it, you could stall your automatic on the rocks, the way he does. :)

I really should have gone with a manual, that way i could have achieved a little higher speed in the dirt out of the limited gearing a d30 restricts us to. And i wouldn't have to deal with these shenanigans.

IMO you're better off buying a Compushift module. $169 and gives you good 1/2 control with some options, without disabling the TCU the way Brett's setup does. Typically you have to cycle the ignition to get "automatic" back.

If you still want a shifter this one works very well http://radesignsproducts.com/default.aspx
I had two of Bretts shifters and they only lasted about a year until they started shifting on their own. I got the rail shifter from Rory and its very easy to install and works great.

thank god yes.
I'm going to buy a manuel xj soon and start over. I'm sick of cooling these damn things, always making sure the fluid is proper, all the electrical thats involved in shifting one gear, trying to find something to manualy shift and getting ripped off, flushing, dropping pans to change filter, no start cuz of a nss, tps adjustments, kickdown adjustments...the list of discrepancies can go on for a while. Its a stout tranny but they hooked it up all wront and i want simplicity and reliability. Sorry for the rant
