i was just looking for recommendations of auxillary lights... i want 4 driving for a roof light bar and two on the front bumper for fog... i had a pair of piaas on the last xj i loved them but at $229 a pair they hurt the wallet... any ideas

aircraft landing lights. put one facing rearwards to use for tailgaters

knew a fellow in the 70's that did just that --- he was chopper pilot and mounted landing lights to his wrangler ---- daylight at 0300 hrs. :wow:

Back in the 70's we mounted one in a sauce pan and used it for spotting dear before the season opened. That baby got downright TOASTY after about 2 minutes...

Hella 500s, they are usually about $65.00 a pair (they have driving and foglight versions.) You can even replace the 55W bulbs with 100W if you wanted to. Got a firend that has 4 of them with 100W bulbs mounted across his front bumper. Works great, but it puts a load on the alternator (so we put in a second optima red top.)
