I have a question for all the jeep guys. My transmission is not shifting from 2nd to 3rd and i unhooked the TCU to see if it is a manual thing and it is still not wanting to work so i am thinking the transmission is bad. The other thing i put some ATF in today and when it was done i looked and had a puddle of ATF all over my driveway but could not see where it leaked from or anything. what do you all think is the tranny shot?

Low fluid can cause poor shifting. Have you noticed the tranny leaking before? I assume you checked the fluid level before trying to add more tranny fluid, how low was it? Another possibility could be a poorly adjusted TV cable.

I just solved an issue with my tranny where it would only shift from 2 to 3 around 4k RPM. Turned out the TV cable return spring broke and got itself lost. A new spring and my shifts are normal again.

ya the fluid was low by about 2 quarts so i added some more, i have not had problems with trans fluid leaking but i do have an oil leak that im working on finding and fixing. Where is the TV cable located so i can check that?
