I searched and could not find anyone recommending a site, but I need a rebuild kit for my AX15 (bearing and syncros)
I have found them everywhere from 155 on ebay to 250+ on other sites. Who has done this and can recommend a good kit?

Around here you can score a good used tranny for about $100 so most people don't bother with the hassle of a rebuild.

I was in the process of rebuilding mine today until I discovered I needed a new input shaft and cluster gear (adding $240 to the $165 I already paid for the rebuild kit plus days to wait for them to arrive). So instead, I'm gonna pick up a 1 yr warranted rebuilt ax15 this weekend for $650. I'll sell you the unused rebuild kit for $150 shipped, if you're interested.

Try the yellow pages and calling around to the local transmission places and ask where they get their parts. I guarantee they have a local vendor they call and drive over to for parts. I found a local place (TranStar I think?) that did mostly automatics parts but ordered in a bearing/brass kit for $180.

According to the trans part place there are two versions of the rebuild kit. The difference being the 5th gear synchro is different.

Any other suggestions? So far I have found the following.
Ebay
http://tinyurl.com/2zpvh4 $155
http://tinyurl.com/yu28pv $177 money order only.
Other.
www.drivetrain.com (http://www.drivetrain.com) Let's say $400 including syncros.... This one makes it hard to justify.
Couple of other places that do parts.

I plan to dissassemble and measure before proceeding but would love to hear from others who have done this. I do not want to throw cheap rebuild parts into the transmission but do not want to overdo it either.
Thanks, Nick
