It was just another ordinary day. The needle got close to the E and he decided to fill up his car. Little did he know what was coming for him...

...,Seriously, how does that happen? Please feel free to make up a scenario because my mind is blown...Don't have to make it up:
1: Burn out an outer wheel bearing on a full floating rear axle housing that has drive plates on the outer drive axle ends instead of one piece flanged axles. whole assembly comes off and takes the brake drum with it.

2: Same bearing failure on any trailer.

3: Some dual tire setups have a attachment system where the outer lugs attach to the inner lugs. If the inner lugs aren't torqued down first, the whole assembly can separate when the studs break. The duals will stay together.

I'd say it was his lucky day. Usually when you hear about a tire separating, it ends with somebody dead.

i love how the lady just picks up the gas nozzle and then walks away...im sure she said/did something for him, but with no audio it looks like she just put that back and ignored the fact that he just got mowed down by a stray tire haha

Looks to me like she may have been helping him, wonder if it was just the two of them at the pumps or if there were more but she was the only one that helped him.

This damn near happened to my dad a few years back. He was standing next to his truck on a freeway construction job. coworker yells look lout, he turned and moved just in time, tire slammed into his truck and F'ed it up pretty good.

I was on the other end of that a few years ago. 'Picking up a race car in an F-350 towing a big ass (12,000lb rated) dual axle trailer. We pulled in for gas on the way back. Left rear tire, hub, and brake assembly just gone. Never felt/saw a thing. 'Never did find out where the tire landed.

Scary,...
