Just might have two jeeps to bring this year. Depends if I get the right parts in time for the 85.

Mac, are you trying to say you'll bring the baby jeep? I think you have done this enough times to know what the weather will be like. I've done this 5 or 6 years in a row and I have to say the weather has been beautiful every single year. Borrow the gooseneck and bring them both, that is the answer.

Oh, and I'm in as usual. Assuming I'm not back here in Russia freezing my butt off. 35 degrees is todays high, and low 40's all week. Looking like I may only be here for two weeks, not 5 as planned, but would have to do a return trip near the end of February.

One XJ or the other...weather dependant...some years its nice enough to go without doors and such...other years its just too damn cold. Besides I have some mods coming for the baby jeep this winter which should make it more fun to wheel.

I hope that I can get in on this, I didn't get to go out at all last year due to money and time. Of course now money is still tight and who knows if I'll be able to get time off or not. I've still got a ton of work to do, like the 44 front 60 rear I have sitting in the garage collecting dust.

Well, the axle part would really just be a fun bonus. The bigger problem I have is the new job in the Department of Corrections. I just started and have zero seniority over anyone, meaning last choice for days off and I'm still on probation so I don't get vacation days until after 6 months.

Yup, I got off that weekend. So as long as everything is in running order on the jeep and nothing comes up I should be there. I'll just have to give everything a once over and tweak a few things before then. I probably won't get the new axles done yet but I can always try.

what is needed for "tech" inspection?

Section 3: Required Equipment for Event Participation

NAXJA expects each event participant to carry insurance and registration sufficient to meet the legal requirements of their vehicle state of residence and for the roads and trails traveled for the event. NAXJA is not responsible for assuring an entrant's vehicle is legal for the roads and trails traveled in the event.

Equipment List

Can't wait to actually learn where the trails are! Been out there half a dozen times since August and I still feel like I never follow a trail start to end, without venturing off-course. Also looking forward to putting names to faces, and I know there are some badass XJs there I need to see. To "borrow" ideas from :)

I've got 6" of lift and 33"s, but no lockers or winch. I'm assuming "moderate" is an appropriate trail choice for me? I don't want to be bored, but "hardcore" just sounds so... hardcore.

IllianaXJ
January 11th, 2009, 19:40
Weeelll, to be honest, without lockers or a winch you may need to stick to Green (easy). It will be up to the trail leader on Saturday whether or not you can run Orange (moderate). Depends on how many want to run the trail, weather conditions, etc.

Last year we had a ton of rigs on Orange, some of which were not locked and were placed between locked/winch'd rigs, ended up working out fine. Weather cooperated.
