Just got finished with the aa sye and tom woods shaft. Everything went well. It kind of bothers me that the oil pickup tube is only held in with the o-ring, the fit on it isnt that great. I now I seated it but I just have bad visions of the damn thing falling out. I took it for a ride on the highway at at about 75mph for about 30 miles and it was smooth as butter. When I got home I climbed underneath and touched the tailhousing and yoke it was warm to touch about as warm as the rear diff. People who have a lifted xj dont know what they are missing. I hope I did the thing right.

remember to re-torque the end yoke after a couple hundred miles, mine came loose and began to slip a little.

The AA is a sweet kit. i am wondering about the added friction of the mainshaft w/o bearings, my case feels like i could cook some steaks on it after a few hours of driving.

Funny... Dude... I did the EXACT same thing...

Main.. the tube is only held in with a o-ring???? and it's not that good a fit...

I kept touching the case... ouch.. main that's hot!!!

Changed the oil after 1,000 or so miles... it smelled kinda burnt.. I was convinced the tube fell out... popped off the tail shaft... it was still seated...

Haven't tought about it again....

????????There are "no more" or "no less" bearings used in these kits!

Yes there is, on some of the older 231, you must remove 1 bearing for the mainshaft because the new larger mainshaft does not need it, the newer 231's had already done away with this bearing
