C8.25 to F8.8 U-Joint?

I had an 8.25 with an sye/tom woods set up.
Just swapped in 8.8.
Do i need to get that $40 flange?
Can I get some sort of bastard u-joint?
is there a u-joint upgrade i should consider?
 
i think it would be easier to just get the new flange. i got two so i have a spare for the trail.
 
The Ranger flange works, but there is an adapter u-joint out there as well. I have one somewhere, but ended up getting the correct flange with my 8.8.

Do all of the rangers have the 1310 yolk flange? if so im going back to the junk yard and pulling a couple more.
