Got 2 of the faucets and valves done and rebuilt the delta faucet in the kitchen.
Now to tackle the toggle valve for the washer. The twist valves are mounted about 6 1/2" apart and drop about 4ft from the ceiling, need to get the feed lines down to 3" apart, I think I need a better selection of elbows..othewise it's going to end up looking like an escher.

Time for brunch...

I got all the plumbing done long time ago. My list is all landscaping and remodeling. I can't decide whether to work on one project each night for the 1 hour I have free each night, bringing all the projects along at approximately the same rate, or work on one project one hour each night before I tackle the next one. The main thing is getting the sequence right. I need to create a climate controlled storage space in the attic so I can clear out the spare room (currently storage) so I can expand the kitchen into the spare room before I convert the spare room into a fourth bedroom. That's not even touching any of the landscaping.

This week has been: Monday night - ball game, Tuesday night - cub scouts, tonight - church function, tomorrow night - ball game. How much of my list do you think I've accomplished this week?

after workin all day, i'm too tired, lazy, stupid, and ill equipped to do any remodeling. in fact i will never(i hope) live in a house where i have to add on or remodel anything ever again. life is just too short. my new motto is to buy a different house if i don't like the one i have now.i know how Dreamin feels, from last saturday to next, i will attend 4 high school games, two are out of town after work, with between 1/2 hour to a 1 1/2 hour drive each way. oh and the saturdays are ALL day tournaments. i wouldn't have it any other way though, this is my last childs senoir year, and i'm gonna see every event i can. besides, all that potential workin on a house would cut into workin on my jeep, he he........

The old one step back for two steps forward. Everytime I want to do something I end up doing two jobs first. Like the cellar, move everything out of the way for the 30 ft section I want to frame/sheetrock/wire then move it all again to do the next 30ft section, gradually working my way around the whole thing.
As for landscaping, pfffft, anything green that I touch I kill, I'm ok with building retaining walls and such but unless it's weeds I'm no good at growing stuff. Main reason my whole lot is all woods cept for the grass over the septic field.... I planted really nice grass there, grew great then winter came and when spring rolled around it was all crabgrass, almost like someone came in, de-sodded all my nice grass and re-sodded with crab grass, there after a chemical battle ensued that lasted three years, various reseedings. Now I mow the crabgrass....:rattle:

I have to re-finish the kitchen table... Or go and drop 2 grand on a "new set"
I don't have 2 grand. and if i did it would mean more jeep mods or big screen HD, not flymsy kitchen table crap...

Actually, I did make progress last night. Before cub scouts I got a light mounted in the attic so I can see WTF I'm doing without having to hold a flashlight in my teeth.

I'd been working on the light in the attic thing for three days, so it wasn't really 'I got something done last night' - it's just something done this week :)

I finally got my Lazy Boy fixed and I don't have time to sit in it. One of the angle braces that holds the rocker springs broke. Then the rocker block fell off, so I 'stored' it in the spare room. When I finally got around to fixing it I called the local Lazy Boy store for a new rocker spring assembly (Lazy Boy - guarantied for life, right). "We don't have parts here in the store, but if you take it to the warehouse they'd be happy to fix it for you. They'd have to charge labor but parts are free." "Where is the warehouse?"

ON I-10 IN HOUSTON !!

I don't think so.

A piece of angle iron, a piece of flat steel, a pneumatic drill, two bolts w/ nyloc nuts, some Gorilla Glue(r), and four lag bolts and I'm back in action...rock it baby!

Back to the attic project :( It's hot up there in the summer

Like the lifetime warranty on fuel pumps and water pumps, parts are free but the labor, yours or someone elses is not.
I just got done pulling the 3 window A/C units but of course nothing is easy, the shelf I had JUST FOR THEM in the cellar somehow mysteriously sucked up a whole bunch of other stuff which will take me an hour to find a home for.

Just stack them on the floor. That's where I store all of our crap.

Everynight before bed i pray that my 1986 model year College dorm room leftover TV in the living room will not power on the next day, so I can justify a new TV. but I swear they built this thing to withstand a nuclear war.
and the colors are right on 25% of the shows we watch... so thats too good of a ratio..

I'm getting ready for new windows, and cleaning up the Jeep junkyard that has somehow grown in the driveway.
Sadly I think I'm going to have to take most of it to scrap. Anybody got any idea what steel is at these days?

Wow, that last two were a bitch, that solder would not hold for crap, then I realized I forgot to use the flux, slathered the fittings and *bam* sucked the solder right up and into the joint. Every thing works and no leaks so far...good deal..

There ya' go!

I, OTOH, have not gotten a damn thing done :gonnablow

Boy won his game last night, though. He struck out, hit a single and scored. He caught the whole game, and not the way other kids catch - standing around kicking the sand. He took two throws to the plate: almost got one runner but held the other at third, and later took a throw that was too late to the plate but the third base coach held his runner at second because Luke was there, in front of the plate with the ball. He did a damn fine job!

The only outside stuff going on up here is keeping dry, 3 solid days of rain.

I call it "working towards time off for good behaviour". Its a sad fact of married life, you single guys dont know how lucky you are. I've been married twenty odd years, but if I murdered her instead of marrying her, i'd be out of jail by now
