i have what is probabally a stupid question but for some reason i cant seem to wrap my brain around it.

Does the driveshaft RPM increase with speed or will it slow back down after a gear change? i hope you understand what i'm saying here.

the driveshaft spins with the axles, not the engine. the faster you drive, the faster it spins. and it does spin really fast.

Increasing the gear ratio numerically, ie, going from 3.55:1 to 4.56:1, will cause the DS to spin faster at the same vehicle speed and the same tire size. The gear ratio tells you how many rotations of the DS equal one rotation of the wheels, ie, 4.56:1 means that the DS will rotate 4.56 times each time the wheels rotate once.
