power steering problem

Sprung a leak in high pressure hose, replaced it 2 days ago. tested it worked great. go out today and feels like i have no power steering. WTF ? any ideas? everythings working no squealing and so on!

Did you go back and re-check the fluid level? The system traps air that works it way out as you operate the system. So, replacing parts in the PS system, top off the reservoir and after a few minutes of the driving the reservoir will be low again, needing to be topped off.

Did you use the Spec Fluid? Less than spec fluid, might NOT meet the requirements, boil or overheat and provide reduced performance/protection.

Did you re-check the hose routing? Maybe the hose, or one of the return/supply hoses are kinked?

Sprung another leak? Again, re-check the fluid level.

topped it off with spec fluid after hose change and turned vehicle on and worked wheel back and forth for a couple of minutes worked fine. nothing is kinked either. also made sure old O rings were removed

Although you didn't say so, I'm assuming you've gone back and checked the fluid level since you started having problems again, and that fluid level is normal. Sounds like you know enough to do that, and know what it means if its low.

Hate to say it, if you accounted for all the things that might have gone wrong or missed during the repair, then you have to consider that the leak might have damaged the pump or PS box.
