Will the reciever on my 97 xj fit my 93 xj?

yeah it'll go. Just did the same on mine. Only had to take off the tailpipe hanger by the gas tank there. Well, that is if you have a class 3 hitch.
Ya it looks like a class III reciever. I do not mess with the xj's much. Are the bolts that bolt the angle bracketof the reciever to the uniframe welded inside the frame rail or are they accessible by removing the side panel that screws in by the rear rails?

The (nut plates) are held in by pop rivits. You'll have to take the rear bumper off to get them out of the frame. Not nessary to pop rivit them back in, that just keeps them aligned during assembly. Al
