Will a radiator from a 1984 2.8v6 work for my newer 1991 4.0?

Im running that rad in my 86. I put a chevy inline 6 in and let me tell you, dont. It will overheat like a son of a bitch. For driving around town its not too bad, but it still overheats. There is just not enough cooling area for a 4.0.
