Rear Main Seal???

I've noticed a smell of burning oil when going up steep hills. Last night the smoke got alot worse I checked the valve cover and it's dry but there is oil coming from the back of the block....So I'm assuming it's the rear main and I need to know how many hours of labor this will be- 95 XJ auto. 4x4

Alldata shows 3.7 hours.

If the back of the block is oily, I'd look more closely at the rear of the valve cover gasket. That'd be my first guess.

Regardless of AllData's book time if you've never done an RMS, plan on 8 hrs. and lots of swearing.
