Hey guys, a couple of months ago I was driving when i heard a loud noise coming from the the driver side of the engine compartment. i stopped n inspected for the noise but couldnt visibly see anything rubbing. Long story short my iginition switch shorted out later, I got it replaced and from then on, everytime I turn the ignition the screetvhing noise is present for 2-3 secs till the engine roars.
Any suggestions???

I would guess this noise could either be caused by a slipping belt or a defect in the starter motor.

I got no abs! The noise is the same noise u hear when the car is running and u turn the ignition.
Could be the starter could be the new ignition switch that was put in

Power steering pump... Check the fluid level of the resevoir.
After re-reading your last post tho... starter and the switch sound better.

the starter is not fully disengaging fast enough.

Isn't there a starter relay in the box? The solenoid controls engagement and disengagement and if there is a relay, it could be sticky.

since you said it makes the same noise as if you turned the key while it is running, i think starter.
