Hotels.com is showing Super 8 and Days Inn with availability from only $90/night.

I could rent you my van for a bit less than that :D

Check Riverside Inn. I know another guy got a room just last week.

We stay there all the time. Its clean and usually cheaper than the rest. $80.00 sticks in my head.

I know Brendan was looking for somebody to share his cabin. He's in cabin#1.

You cannot share our room at the Inca. But, you could try calling and see if there is still room, someone had to cancel?

Whats the word from the locals on the Silver Sage Inn? :dunno: Cheaper, nasty, not worth it? Or Eh, place to sleep that wont give you an infection?

Did you call the Inca Inn?

I'm sure there would be an RV or two open for Rose to do some homework, if you tented it.

For sure check with Inca. I for one, just cancelled my room there a couple weeks ago. Something may be available.

Inca inn was my first call. He said they are booked. He doesnt expect any cancellations either. Not this close.

Looks like if it pans out, I am going to do the silver sage inn. Coming in tuesday morning and leaving on friday night. We shall see:eyes:

I will have to talk to Rose again about borrowing table space in some RVs.

Matt, we are staying at the Inca. I don't know if our room has a table or a desk but if it does, Rose is more than welcome to use it.

Vince, now that she may take. She has been hesitant to use others RVs (for good reason IMO). I even brought up she could use Goatmans in a pinch, but she knows how busy everything will be in the campsite.

I have a reservation at the Sleep Inn that I'm not using. Haven't cancelled it yet. It's for Monday to Sunday.

It was for the government rate (I think it's like $75 a night).

Don't know if they'll give you the rate, but I'm going to cancel it soon. We're camping for free at pack creek.

Edit: You guys are welcome to pitch a tent at our campsite for free, I think we could make room. You probably want to stay over at slick rock though.

Tell me more on the F R E E ? ;) Seriously. Where is it in relationship to the town?

We're staying for free because I'm active duty. I'm not sure how big the sites are, but we'll have two small tents (me and wife and nate and wife), bathhouse, wireless internet. I don't think it's very far from slick rock.

I stayed there once and it was scary. The guy gives me the key to my room with a warning that they had a water spill the day before, but it should be aired and dried out. I put one foot in the room and it smells like someone emptied a dumpster in the room. Seriously. I told the guy I wouldn't stay in that room so he gives me a key to another room that smelled like a gallon of bleach had been sprayed over the entire room to hide another offensive smell. As for the furnishings, think rejects from a thrift store. I was tired and desperate so I stayed the night and found a campsite out of town the next day.

I never did register, but I'm headed out tomorrow. I'll be picking up my friend Mike (and his Jeep) in Kansas City and heading to Moab from there. We don't have a place to stay, but I will have my cab over camper, so we hope to find something cheap near town. Jeff

2K? Why so much? It shouldn't cost anywhere near that to go...if you live on saltines and peanut butter.

We're shooting for 10 mpg, but expecting 8.
3340 miles round trip makes that 417 gallons at $4.25 a gallon is $1772.

Most of the places except illinois and west of denver are under $4 a gallon, so we're hoping better than that, but not counting on it.

I saw diesel at 3.99 today - shortly after I'd just filled up at 4.09. But that's the best it's been here in Illinois for quite some time. I'm looking forward to lower prices as I hit the Missouri border and everywhere after that.

3.75 in ohio, 4.00 in indiana, 3.89 in illinois, 3.89 in iowa.

Could've saved some pennies in indiana, but getting off and back on the turnpike is a bitch.

Prices looks consistent everywhere (traveling from the east) except denver. ($3.88-3.99) Avoid filling up in denver area if possible (4.12 - 4.20)
