On other issues, McCain:
-Appeared to concede that his health care plan would result in higher taxes for some. McCain favors a $5,000 annual tax credit to help individuals and families afford health insurance, but that could leader employers to drop their current plans, It depends on, on, on what plan they have," McCain said. "But that's usually the wealthiest people. Ordinary working Americans have the kind of, or an overwhelming majority have the health insurance plans that this tax credit, refundable tax credit, will actually put more money in their pockets for the purchase of health care than what they had before."

Just curious, are you guys aware that McCanes plan includes a new income tax on company paid employee health care benefits?

HEY are you aware that you'd get a $5000.00 tax credit for a family on McCains plan? That MORE than offsets it...

How the HECK do you think Obamas plan will get everyone health care without raising taxes?

His magic wand? Or is he really the MESSIAH with the ability to heal all peoples?

:twak:

Mike, you only hear what you want to hear...........

McCain's quote from your linked article:

"I certainly would have done everything in my power to remove those earmarks," he told ABC's "This Week" in an interview. "But I may have voted for it if, I probably would have ended up voting for it, but I decry a system where individual members are, are faced with taking all this unacceptable, outrageous stuff that has contributed to the largest growth in spending since the Great Society."

By one estimate, the bill includes 2,322 pet projects sought by lawmakers for their home districts and states, totaling $6.6 billion.

This is why we are in the situation we are in. The system is broken and needs a major overhaul. Not a replacement with Socialism, but back to the government that our founding Father's created. We the People have tolerated this long enough. We need to stop allowing our elected officials to tell us what we need, they work for us and should be doing our will.

Yes I am, but some critics say that many businesses who currently have employee plans may drop the company employee health insurance plans due to the new income tax on those benefits, and that many people with pre existing conditions will not be able to replace what they have now with the $5,000 credit.

How about we find a candidate that wants to attack the real problems with health care in this country:

Illegal Immigrants flooding the ERs
People who don't work who expect free healthcare
Disability fraud
and....the big one....

Malpractice insurance that is thru the roof because courts let people sue a doctor for "pain and suffering" to the tune of $400 million.
