tj lp 30 swap?

my buddy is upgrading the axles on his tj. it is a 2002. he said i can buy his front axle off of him for 500 bucks. like 4 months ago he had an ox locker installed and 4:56 gears.

my question is can i swap the the gears locker and shafts into my hp 30 or are they different. i am not sure if lp vs hp just means where it is set or if it is a completely different one.

if not will the whole tj front axle direct swap into my xj?

yes, the shafts and locker will swap in. i'm not sure about the gears.

yes, the whole tj axle will bolt in; 99-01 XJ's had LP TJ front axles. why you would want to do that I have no idea.

Low pinion gears WILL NOT work in a high pinion.

As far as everything else, it'll be the same, carrier, locker, shafts, brakes, ect..
