Crossmember & tranny connection

wolverine 00 xj

I have a 2000 xj. I bought a Rusty's 1" drop Xmember, and I hope to replace the stock one soon. Any advice on going about this? I did search on this. I'm wondering if I can just put a jack under the transmission to keep it in place, and then disconnect it in place from the crossmember. I'm in Michigan, so any bolts will be badly rusted. Just looking for some "if I had to do it over again, here's how I would to it" type of advice.
Thanks

get a 2x4 or 4x4 put on jack and jack under the tranny pan to take the pressure off of the cross member.

thanks for the feedback. What actually connects the tranny to the crossmember? It's unclear from the material I've been able to locate. I assume there are a few bolts. Can you get at them easily?
