If you mean your key won't turn to where it needs to be to start your jeep then it is either your ignition switch or your key cylinder lock. I suppose it could also be some weird malfunction with your steering wheel lock.
Good Luck!

Make sure that your gear selector is in "park" or "nuetral"

It's a bad cylinder. There is something messed up in there and thats why it won't turn or let a constant power supply through.

What year is it? If its a newer model it could be the security system. I had a ZJ that every now and then, you would get in and turn the key and everything on the dash would blink on and off. All I had to do is reset the security system by locking and unlocking the driver side door a couple of times if I remember right. Look at your drivers manual in the glove box, and look for to see if there is a way to reset the system. Also check your fuses. Hope that helps.

If you pull the lower portion of the dash, there is a acuator rod that goes from the key cylinder to the ignition switch on the top of the column. See if it is hitting something or sticking on something. Could be a simple fix or at least worth a try. I believe you also have to remove the nuts that hold the column up, to let it drop down.
