zj hitch work on a xj?

I have a like new zj hitch, sold the zj and wondered if it will work for an xj. Anyone tried it? Thanks.

I measured the one that was on a 98 zj that i sold and it did not match up to my 96 xj

the way the zj hitch is designed the shackel bolts get in the way, however a zj gas tank skid plate will fit
