Engine swap question

I picked up my used engine over the weekend. I got it home and cleaned the dirt off........the engine code on the valve cover is ZJ not XJ ! This is a 96 ZJ (Grand Cherokee) engine. I had already planned on replacing the electrical stuff anyway.........the timing cover looks different than my 99. Mine is a 99 Cherokee........anyone have any input on a 96 Grand Cherokee engine into a 99 Cherokee?

I had the opposite problem when i tried to swap my 96 for a new 99+. The timing covers are different and some of the accessories mounts are different.

The long block is the same - you should be able to swap the accessory bracketry and parts that don't match without too much trouble (and you should reseal things like that anyhow.)
