so it'll say part time, all the time, on my 89' xj laredo 4x4. but when i step on the gas in any gear or neutral itll turn off (im guessing revving it puts enough vacuum to turn it off, any quick ideas or the usual check all your lines?

Sounds like motor twisting and causing the plug to come loose. Check the connector at the transfer case first, then follow it back.

well my lines are very stretched as it is like i put in a s.y.e. and for some reason it was super hard to put the connector on

you might need to adjust the shifter. one bolt on the 4wd linkage.
