So I have a '85 Waggy dana 44 that Im putting under the front of my xj and I am looking into getting a dana 44 out of a rodeo for the rear. The problem is that the rodeo axle has a 4.30:1 gear ratio and the closest ratio that I could find for the front is 4.27:1. Is this too much of a difference? I will be driving in 4hi occasionally in the snow. Sorry if this question has already been addresed

If you wanted to stick with the 4.30, 4.27 is close enough to work.

About .07 apart is considered 'the same', as new/used tires fluctuate about that much.
