TC and trans question

Hey guys i need some advice.

Im looking to start buying the drivetrain for my build up...

i have a chance to pick up a NP 205 Transfercase and a Turbo 350 trans...

i wanted to know what you guys thought about that setup.... i orginally wanted to go with the Dana 300 out of my CJ and put the tera low kit on it....

will the 350 trans hold up to a built 5.0L engine?

Yes from what ive read an T350 is good for up to about 600HP and the NP205 is pretty stout but just massive.

You will need an adapter plate to mount them.

you think i should just use the Dana 300 i already have? i know those are pretty good esp with the tera low kit and a dual stick setup....

i also have a huge NP from a 04 F-250 that i could use.... but that thing is very big but super beefy...

The bad thing about the D300 is that its a pass side front output, requiring you to have a pass side drop axle. Not that thats hard to get but its just an added modification.

Im pretty sure you can flip them but im not sure about all the things you have to do to make them work that way.

Yeah the D300 is very stout especially with a couple mods.

Truthfully, i dont think there is a problem with the NP231 thats probably there. They make a big chain, tera low, 2 low, and a couple other mods for it. They're pretty decent when it comes to strength especially if you mod them.

If i was going to put money into a TC and wanted it built with twin sticks and such, i would just go with an Atlas 4 speed or a STaK monster box. Just my .02
