trouble putting doors back on a 98

I searched around some and PM'd a guy but I thought I would go ahead a ask out in the open.

I'm trying to use 5/16 pins to put the doors back on and I have a lot of sag. I think I remember seeing where shimming the bottom hinge will take care of that?

Also, on my drivers side door, the flat piece of metal that helps the door not open too far(it has the tapered roll pin holding it in place at the body) must have slipped inside the door a little bit because I'm having a heck of a time getting it to work correctly. I can get the roll pin through all the holes but I can't open the doovery much at all or close it.

I can't remember the exact size but im using 8mm bolts that I picked up from Home Depot. No sag at all and they fit perfectly. I would go and look around.
