anybody into RC Helicopters? specifically, electric ones, not gas.
Been thinking about buying one for my girlfriend as a present (ok, for me too). There's just so much stuff out there, I dunno what to get. Of course, inexpensive is nice, but it seems that there isn't anything good under $100?
Is there some FAQ/primer website with info on what to look for, what to avoid, etc? I found a couple forums, but couldn't find much useful info.
TIA :worship:

This is what I'd go with to get started, I just don't have the cash right now to buy one myself. The hobby shops I work in can't keep them in stock for much more than a week at a time and they do seem to fly well and your LHS should be able to get parts easily for them or through these guys if you don't have a shop near by. I recently found out about a tiny $30 heli that Toy's "R" Us is selling that seems to fly pretty good too.

they import direct from China. If you do a bit of research you'll see that most of the products are the same as the hirobos and hanger 9 stuff.
I agree with RCP, $100 get's you a toy.

I have the Blade CX, great little heli. Quite easy to fly if you already have general RC experience, even if not it won't take long to get it hovering. Fairly rugged, and parts are cheap, I think its 4 full sets of blades for $8. Works good indoors, gets pushed a bit by breezes outdoors so if it's not calm, give yourself some room.
