stuck in mud anyone willing to help

Anyone close to duluth georgia willing to help a jeep stuck in the mud? I have been trying for 12 hours now to get unstuck or find someone willing to pull me out. Any help would be awesome.

Sorry guys that I am just now responding. I was on a freinds phone and did not know the phone number, he was asleep in the back. We finally were able to get out of my jeep once it got light out, we walked to the road and got someone to give us a ride to our work. My boss left early and took us back and pulled the jeep out for me. Both diffs were sunk in mud. We were out off of Peachtree Ind. near Sugar Hill.


I thank all of you for wanting to help and I feel bad that I did not check back and update sooner.

Thanks for the tip, but its not like I was out there vandalizing or dumping. I am the type to pick up the crap that others toss out. Also, there are no signs posted saying to keep out and I know of a few police officers that wheel out there. That area has more than just powerline service roads; it is a popular place for wheelers and dirtbikes.

Right now there is a law suit trying to close one of the best wheeling spots in America and it's two hours away.
Little know it all punks who trespass like you screw the rest of us out of areas to wheel. Just because there is no sign doesn't make it legal many, many know it alls before you have been ticketed and had their trucks impounded. IT'S ILLEAGLE TO RIDE THERE.
I don't care "the other guys do it" tell that to the judge.
For now, get with the program and support the hobby or GTFO. We don't need vandals ruining what's left.

I was nice in my first post on page one. Then I got a response of " I know better and everyone else does it"

That area has been wheeled as long as I've owned a truck. I can remember going there in the mid 80's and getting run out. Let's add the other areas that are off limits. The Mud Flats (RIP 316&85), Panola Mtn, Rock Chapel, the river on GA 20, Hurricane Shoals, Sweetwater...
If we don't start policing ourselves. The land owners and counties will do it for us. Right now it's ok to drive my Jeep on the street with 3' of lift and 35's.
With enough political pressure from land owners. The police can make my life miserable going to the mall. There are laws already on the books in GA that state a frame can not be adjusted up or down more than 2" from stock height.
All we as recreational wheelers need to do is piss off the wrong person and our trucks are grounded.

This is serious, and needs to be treated that way.
Like I said, go legal or go home.

For real...I used to ride there back when I was a "know it all kid" and now I wouldn't touch the place because I know it's illegal and I know it puts a bad reputation on the off-road community. We all go down that road and we all learn from it. You're not going to be able to stop the kids from doing what we all did...it's just part of growing up. Lay off of him. I'm sure he has now realized that he shouldn't be there anymore. I know the police don't care if it's someones' first time there or hundreth time there but you have to hope that the young guys realize it only hurts our community when they do stuff like that and they pass on the word to their buddies if they truely care about the sport.

Just for the record, I am well beyond 19, and I know that I do not know it all. That said, I realize going places that are illegal and vandalizing or tearing stuff up ruins the reputation of many. As I said in my prior post, I do not do that stupid stuff, if anything I would clean up after others and run off those I caught trashing these places. I do tread lightly and keep to the well established paths and I make sure to clean up after myself.

Today I spoke with a Srgt. from GCPD and was told you are legally required to get written permission from the land owner; he said GA Power would not grant it to anyone. He knows the place I was at and said that as long as people are not out there doing drugs or vadalizing GCPD don't mind us being there. He told me that if they catch you they will ask what you were doing and possibly tell you to leave.

I am perfectly aware of the fight for Tellico, and I am against those trying to shut it down, however that is slightly different. That fight is not over people wheeling on private or corporate property. The fight is over water and environmental damage. I also think this is a load of crap. The sediment that is getting into the river has been getting there for many years and will continue to do so through natural causes.

One last thing. NeverMonday, I do appreciate your concern for the rights of wheelers, but like I said, I was not hurting anything. I was just enjoying myself. Hopefully there are no hard feelings.

Are there any places in north/central GA to wheel, other than the couple of ORV parks, that I could go without making waves. I am relatively new to GA and I don't know of any places other than paths I pass by while driving and I would like to keep the peace.

I question the fact you posted that GP Owners "ALL" the power lines. Over here they have an "agreement" with said land owner. Most of the "agreements" are letters of consent for the power company to put up lines or for permission to put up a poll. The only way to know for sure is to go to the tax office. Secondly be a little more tactful in the future guys. I know of several lines that are patrolled for kids on 4 wheelers but the more mature wheelers are just asked to help keep things under control. Maybe that is because I'm in a much more rural area, personally I steer clear of areas I question. In SC it is only trespassing if it is posted on said property. Every state is different it would be advisable to check your local regulations. That being said I'm closing this in hopes that it will die and be forgotten. :peace:
