Blanket under hood keep it or rip it off?
If it were in good condition I would keep it. If it is being torn apart I would take it off.

 ???
if your talking about the felt like padding under the hood then i didnt know XJs came with that. mine didnt nor do i remember seeing it under the hoods of the ones at the jy.
FWIW, my dodge ram had that crap under the hood. it started falling off so i tore the rest of it off. no ill effects. my xj has not had the underhood felt in it since i have had it. when i lived in utah, i noticed that the snow would melt faster off the hood of my truck after taking that stuff off= more heat disipation.

I ripped mine off during the "overheating sage" of late 07... LOL
I didn't notice any difference one way or the other. I know with the hood vent install, it would have been coming off anyway.

My jeep doesnt have one, my car had one and it was a fire blanket. If an engine fire starts the blanket falls and smothers it(hopefully). I took it out though, it was falling apart....

My 87 XJ wagoneer has it it just makes it alittle quieter.
If it is in good shape I would say keep it on.

My 93 has it, cant see it making any difference. As far as i know they are put on to help in the colder climates to make them keep underhood temps up during very cold weather like and insulator
