I'm looking at replacing my 231 with a 242 (third pass at researching this) and am really intrigued by the 242AMG... I don't need 2WD if I have full-time 4WD. However putting in a 242HD is probably a more reasonable ambition. The downside to both of course is that they have slip yoke and nobody makes a SYE for the HD/AMG units.
Since I'm looking to go 4-6 inches eventually I guess I'm pretty much stuck with using 242-J. So basically I guess I'm just curious if anybody has done the 242-HD or 242-AMG and how it's worked out
