yeah they are certainly nice looking rigs... mine right now is underneath a PILE of junk (the usual garage stuff) and theres nothing being done to it
i was looking at getting ahold of somone about getting a sponsorship....
any suggestions on that? its not going to be a race car.. its going to be a show/sunnyday weekend car if you know what i mean...
i also know of a guy with a chevy nova in town where he got lordco to sponsor him and they paid to have some body work and painting done to it...
to my understanding though after they did this he had to do a whole shit load of advertisment for them using his car (photo shoots and what not)...

I've seen more than one show car here on the island that is sponsored. The one fella I talked to was sponsored by a local paint/rod shop, I forget which one. He reported the same thing, he had to do a ton of advertising for them too. A bigger shop would probably be able to help better than a smaller place, depending on their advertising/sponsorship budget, but I'm sure they will want a piece of the action. On this guy's car, an older chevelle, the body shop had their logo right in the paint on the rear deck of the car. Bummer if you are looking for a clean look.

If its a second car for you and you have time and space to build it up, why not just undertake it with a few friends here and there, plan a 3 year build up or something.

I know what its like to have a rotting hotrod, I only recently got rid of my Jensen, dammit...

One of those shows did one a few months ago, one of the ones actually used in the show, I think it was Rides maybe.
They never impressed me when they first came out, to me that was one fugly ford with an over sized ornamented grill but the paint on them was nice. Alot of the owners who had them around where I lived thought they were fast and I enjoyed embarrasing them with my 75/76 Dodge van with it's 440 and B&M loadflight plus the factory locker helped too...

Always liked that photochop. If I had a red XJ I'd do it in a second.

I've been looking for some used that might fit my XJ for over a year now. No such luck. I'd rather not spend close to a grand for a new set out here. I won't purchase anything off ebay, too many burns in the past...
